The Association of Resident Doctors, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto (ARD UDUTH) is a professional body that represents and advances the collective interests of resident doctors undergoing postgraduate medical training at Usman Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH), Sokoto.

Why We Exist

ARD UDUTH exists to provide a unified platform through which resident doctors can pursue excellence in training, professional development, and service delivery while safeguarding their welfare and professional rights. The Association is committed to ensuring that resident doctors are well-supported, motivated, and empowered to perform their clinical, academic, and research responsibilities effectively.

Welcome Address by the President

It is my pleasure to warmly welcome you to the official platform of the Association of Resident Doctors, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto (ARD UDUTH).

On behalf of the Executive Council and the entire membership of this great Association, I extend my sincere appreciation to you for your interest in our work and our shared commitment to excellence in postgraduate medical training and quality healthcare delivery.

ARD UDUTH remains a unified and professional body dedicated to representing the interests of resident doctors, promoting a conducive training environment, and safeguarding the welfare of our members. We recognize the central role resident doctors play in the healthcare system, serving as the backbone of service delivery while undergoing rigorous specialist training. As such, our Association is committed to advocacy, dialogue, and collaboration that strengthen both professional development and patient care.

FUNDAMENTAL OBJECTIVES

Number 1

To cater for the academic, professional, and personal interests of resident doctors by supporting quality postgraduate training, continuous learning, and overall development throughout residency programs.

Number 2

To protect the interests and promote the efficiency of resident doctors in the discharge of their duties through effective representation and advocacy for fair working conditions and professional standards.

Number 3

To improve the social and economic welfare of resident doctors by addressing remuneration, work-life balance, well-being, and fostering unity and mutual support among members.

Number 4

To seek and sustain improved healthcare delivery by promoting high clinical standards, ethical practice, and continuous medical education to enhance patient care outcomes.

Number 5

To collaborate with organizations and professional bodies with similar aims and objectives to strengthen advocacy, advance medical education, and contribute to healthcare system development.
